THIS WAY TO WELLNESS

this-way-to-wellness

The W.E.L.L. Summit is around the corner (literally- it’s this weekend!) and I for one, am ready to get my “om” on. Held at the Boston Design Center on Saturday, April 21, W.E.L.L. Summit (Wellness. Empowerment. Learning. Luxury.) is a full day conference focused on empowering women to live their best lives through a 360° approach to wellness. If you’re looking to impact your life for the better, or are into panel discussions + insider tips on everything from clean eating, to green beauty, to making better informed consumer decisions- search no further.

The W.E.L.L. Summit was designed for you if you:

  1.  Care about your health and are looking to make positive life changes.
  2. Want to create the safest environment for you, your family and your loved ones.
  3. Strive to be around like-minded individuals who can help you to reach your health goals.

The W.E.L.L. Summit is all about empowering women, like you and me, to live their most fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally. Their 360° approach to wellness is about looking at your life and yourself from a holistic standpoint. It’s about nutrition and fitness, but it’s also your relationships, your mental health and being mindful. It’s taking care of the environment as a whole and your personal environment where you live and work. It’s about taking into consideration your personal care products and what you clean your home with. 360° of Wellness is everything that helps you to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.

So what does this mean for me? At the beginning of 2018, I made a pledge to be kinder to myself this year (more on that here), and attending the W.E.L.L. Summit in Boston is one of the ways I’m doing just that. When I was asked to join the #wellsummittribe as an ambassador for this years’ festivities, I knew I wanted in. As a wellness newbie, I’m still working through defining what my own personal approach to happiness and well being is. So far, that definition is landing somewhere between yoga and a paleo diet, and pizza on my couch. Life’s about balance, yeah? My hope, is that a day surrounded by other women who know about wellness, are working on wellness, or have been involved in the summit before, will help teach me and inform my definition in a way that’s a little more developed. And I can’t wait for that to happen.

Here’s a sneak peak of some of the programming I’m most looking forward to:

Morning Yoga: Calm. Centered. Grounded. Presented by Athleta and taught by Sara DiVello.

I met Sara at the #wellsummittribe kick-off dinner at Athleta back in February. As a yoga instructor and author, this woman is a wellness powerhouse whose personal experience struck a major chord with me. After years of climbing the ladder in the corporate PR world  (sound like anyone else we know?) she walked away and embarked on a new life in the yoga community. Her book, “Where in the OM Am I?” chronicles that journey and is an absolute must read.

Keynote Speaker: Agapi Stassinopoulos- Wake up to Joy of You and Guided Meditation

Agapi Stassinopoulos is a best-selling author and speaker who inspires audiences around the world. Her book, “Wake Up To the Joy of You” inspires readers to let go of what doesn’t work and create the life you really want. Now that’s an approach to wellness I can get behind. Plus, it does not take a rocket scientist to call out my excitement for anything that involves a Greek person. Now imagine that person is also the sister of one of my professional idols, Arianna Huffington. And add the fact that her first name literally translates to Love in English. Excuse me while I fan-girl for a bit.

Panel: Turning It Off When You’re Always On

Say it with me “Maybe I’ll learn how to actually walk away from my phone, and my computer, and my tablet, and Instagram, and…
